Jan Wouters

Jan Wouters is full professor of international law and international organizations and Jean Monnet Chair ad personam at KU Leuven, where he is also director of the Institute for International Law and the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, and administrator of the America Europe Fund. He is a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium, adjunct professor at Columbia University, and visiting professor at the College of Europe, Paris2, Sciences Po and LUISS. In September 2023, he joined Omega Law as Of Counsel, after serving 26 years as Of Counsel at the Brussels law firm Linklaters (formerly De Bandt, Van Hecke & Lagae).  He has a large number of publications in European, international, financial and corporate law. He sits on the editorial board of a dozen national, European and international legal journals.

Jan’s expertise is mainly in European and international law, including the many interactions between these legal orders and Belgian and Flemish law. He has advised numerous governments and international organizations.
